Guidelines for Authors

1. Manuscript Submission

The Journal of Intelligent Learning Technologies and Education (JILTE) accepts original and unpublished manuscripts related to artificial intelligence in education, learning technologies, pedagogical innovation, educational analytics, and digital transformation in academic contexts. Submitted manuscripts must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal or publishing platform.

Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s official editorial platform in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).


2. Publication Languages

The journal accepts scientific articles in:

  • English
  • Spanish

Authors are encouraged to ensure proper grammatical and linguistic revision before submission.


3. Types of Manuscripts

JILTE accepts the following types of contributions:

  • Original research articles.
  • Systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
  • Academic essays.
  • Case studies.
  • Short communications.
  • Technological reviews and innovative applications.
  • Scientific reviews.

4. Manuscript Structure

Articles should include, where applicable:

  • Article title.
  • Full name of the authors.
  • Institutional affiliation.
  • ORCID (optional but recommended).
  • Institutional email address.
  • Abstract (150–250 words).
  • Keywords (3–5).
  • Introduction.
  • Methodology.
  • Results.
  • Discussion.
  • Conclusions.
  • References.

5. Document Format

Manuscripts must comply with the following specifications:

  • Page size: A4.
  • Font: Times New Roman.
  • Font size: 12 pt.
  • Line spacing: 1.5.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm.
  • Justified text.
  • Consecutive page numbering.

Tables, figures, and images must be numbered and include corresponding titles and source information.


6. Citation and Reference Style

The journal follows the APA Style (7th edition) for citations and references. All sources cited within the text must appear in the final reference list.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and consistency of all references used.


7. Originality Policy

Submitted manuscripts must be original and unpublished. The journal uses academic similarity detection tools to identify possible cases of:

  • Plagiarism.
  • Self-plagiarism.
  • Duplicate publication.
  • Improper use of sources.

Manuscripts that fail to comply with ethical standards will be immediately rejected.


8. Artificial Intelligence Usage

The use of artificial intelligence tools must be explicitly declared within the manuscript. Authors must indicate:

  • The name of the AI tool used.
  • The type of use performed.
  • The scope of AI assistance provided.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors of the article.


9. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process. The process includes:

  1. Preliminary editorial review.
  2. Evaluation by specialized external reviewers.
  3. Communication of reviewer comments.
  4. Revision by the authors.
  5. Final editorial decision.

10. Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Published content may be distributed for academic and scientific purposes provided proper attribution is maintained.


11. Ethical Statement

Authors must guarantee:

  • Scientific honesty.
  • Transparency of data.
  • Respect for research ethics principles.
  • Informed consent when applicable.
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest.

12. Publication Fees

The journal will clearly specify whether there are any fees associated with article processing or publication (APC). If applicable, such charges will be transparently communicated before the editorial process begins.
